The cutest igloo ever

The cutest igloo ever

.

This is a picture of the awesome finished igloo we built after (more or less) 5 hours of (hard) work. Was a complicated mission but we did it! At the end, all of us (some more than others) were feeling proud of the end result. Here goes the credit to the igloo team:

  • Technical direction and guidance by Dr. Kershaw, who patiently showed us the technique of cutting the blocks and placing them, doing big part of the foundations of the structure.
  • Nick helped at the beginning cutting and transporting blocks. Afterwards he suddenly lost motivation (or hope) in the project. He took pictures, which is key in such memorable kind of job.
  • Leonard did a great job in the cutting, transporting and lifting of blocks (especially the heaviest ones). He’s the one behind the fashionable door design and construction.
  • Josh did some cutting, transporting and lifting. He did the placing, shaving and gluing of almost all the blocks. At moments I had the feeling he could have built the igloo by himself, but faster.
  • I contributed by marking the circumference of the structure in the surface. I did the cutting and transporting of (light) blocks. I did some makeup work –together with Josh- closing out the cracks with a bit of snow in the inside as well in the outside. I also dug the entrance making it accessible.

The messy-up design is unique and is a result of the wonderful team work. I'm completely sure no other igloo team would ever be able to reach such level of artistic creation… Isn’t this the cutest igloo ever?
